Like many other departments, the Engineering Department consists of several independent functions including surveying, development review, project design and permitting, and construction project management. The Traffic Operations include speed limit requests and analysis, maintenance of highway lighting, traffic signals, school zones, pavement markings, intersection operations, and roadway capacity. The Engineering Department reviews construction plans and plats of residential and commercial developments proposed for unincorporated areas of the county so they conform to county code and the department also reviews and approves work performed in public right-of-ways in the unincorporated areas. |
