Garbage Collection Schedule
Avon Park Area - Collection days are Monday and Thursday. Yard waste is collected on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month. Choice Environmental Services is the franchised hauler for this area and may be reached at (863) 655-0005

Lake Placid Area –Collection days are Tuesday and Friday. Yard waste is collected on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month Choice Environmental Services is the franchised hauler for this area and may be reached at (863) 655-0005.

Sebring Area - This area is split into two different collection days. For all residents North of Hammock Rd., North of Lakeview Drive and all residents of Arbuckle Rd. collection days are Monday and Thursday and the yard debris pickup days are the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month.  For all residents south of Hammock Rd., South of Lakeview Drive and all residents of Kenilworth Rd. collection days are Tuesday and Friday and the yard debris pickup days are the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month.. Choice Environmental Services is the franchised hauler for this area and may be reached at (863) 655-0005..

Tires, Oil, Batteries and Appliances are picked up on a Call-In basis ONLY. The customer must call the franchised hauler to request pickup. These services are provided at no additional cost. Contact Choice Environmental Services for additional information.

Highlands County Solid Waste Requirements
Collection begins at 7:00 a.m. All residential garbage must be placed curb-side prior to 7:00 a.m. for guaranteed service. Garbage must be in containers of not more than 35-gallon capacity, or in bags with maximum weights of 50 pounds.

Furniture and bedding will be collected on your second normal garbage day of the week. 

Yard Debris -Collection is two times per month as indicated for each area listed above.. Everything must be canned, bagged or bundled, and it must be less than 100 pounds and maximum length of 6 feet.

Non-Acceptable Items include Paint, Pesticides, and Chemicals of any kind.

These services are provided at no additional cost with the exemption of tires. The hauler can only pickup up to 6 tires per year per resident free of charge.
