Replica of Vietnam War Memorial To Visit Highlands County November 18-21

The Veterans Council of Highlands County, Inc., composed of 24 veteran organizations, is sponsoring the “2010 Vietnam Wall Project:”

The Moving Wall is a replica scale model of the Vietnam War Memorial Wall located on the Mall at Washington DC.  Touring the country for more than 20 years, there are two structures that travel the US from April through November.

Lakeshore Mall will be the site of the November 18-21 display of the Moving Wall.  Volunteers will be needed to help during the week to assist with security, set-up and packing up after the event.  Other volunteers will be needed for assisting visitors to the Wall locate the names on the wall, with parking, and with cleanup. 

Donations and Support Needed

Donations are also needed to support the cost of the Moving Wall coming to Highlands County, and providing food and accommodations to the sponsors, and the other costs involved.  An account has been established at Wauchula State Bank, Lake Jackson Branch, 1385 U.S. 27 South, Sebring, FL  33870, and donations to the “2010 Vietnam Wall Project” account are welcome.
