EMERGENCY SERVICES

Emergency Services administers a variety of programs to provide financial assistance in response to an unexpected emergency expense or unforeseen temporary loss of income.

Assistance is not in the form of cash; payments are made directly to vendors such as utility companies or landlords. Due to funding cycles, all programs are not necessarily in effect at all times. Eligibility requirements may vary depending on the program. Please call 863-402-6626 in advance to ensure that funding is available and that you meet basic eligibility requirements.

  • Utilities – Assistance with electric bills is available through referral to LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program). Under certain circumstances water bills and electric bills are eligible for payment through our Emergency Services
  • Rent/mortgage – Clients must complete an assessment of needs and eligibility to be considered for programs that may provide assistance with one month’s rent, or past-due mortgage.  Programs are for low-to-moderate-income individuals or families that have experienced an unforeseen financial crisis.
  • Information & referral Applicants are routinely referred to other service providers if their needed service is not available through our office. Another important resource for services available in the community is the United Way Information & Referral database (1-800-881-UWAY).
