The Main Objective of the Placid Utilities Department is to:serve the public by providing a safe drinking water source to the residents of Tomoka Heights, Lake June, Fransvilla, Lake Francis areas. It provides water services to contaminated areas with funds provided by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP). Through this service and various expansions there is potential for economic development and improved financial stability over private utilities. Improved County fire protection will be realized, as well as, compliance with the goals of the comprehensive plan. Placid Utilities also maintains a sewer system for the Tomoka Heights area to insure reliability, quality, safety and maintain a level of service specified by the State Comprehensive and Regulatory Mandates for the utility customers of Placid Utilitiess.
