The Parks and Recreation Department, located at 4344 George Blvd. in Sebring, strives to protect and maintain Highlands County's outstanding natural and scenic resources as well as provide active recreational facilities for the public.  The Department, formed in the 1990's, has in its inventory, key facilities such as the Hammock Trail, the Lincoln Heights and Desoto City ballfields, the Preserve of Sun n' Lakes, H.L.Bishop Park, and the Windy Point Park.  The multi-field sports complex which includes softball, soccer and football amenities for all citizens and visitors.
